What is a Community First Responder?

Alveley Community First Responders (or CFR's) are volunteers who are trained and qualified by the West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) to a nationally recognised level and provide life saving treatment like CPR, defibrillation, trauma care and other life saving techniques for various emergency situations.

We provide a voluntary service to people in our local rural community of Alveley and surrounding areas between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster in the Severn valley area of Shropshire.

Working alongside West Midlands Ambulance Service we are tasked to 999 calls by their control room team always being backed up by the nearest available ambulance crew or rapid response vehicle.

Alveley CFR's are trained by West Midlands Ambulance Service to a nationally recognised standard.
